"Psycho II"
I was very interested in the letter from the person who was working for a "psycho" boss, because last fall I found myself in the same position. I had been unemployed for several months after being laid off, and this job sounded great. The money was exceptional. It took me two days to realize that the boss was a cruel and abusive mental case. I tried to stay while looking for another job, but after four months I realized that this job was damaging me mentally and emotionally so much that I had to get out. Although I was unemployed for many months after leaving this job, I have never doubted that getting out was the right decision. I hope your writer realizes the same thing, and leaves quickly. Take it from someone who has been there: "Get out! Get out! Run as fast as you can to get away from that psycho before the damage is so extensive that it takes you years to recover." Margita
Dear Margita, Thanks for your letter. It sounds like you had a close call with this boss. And that you did the wise thing to leave. I too hope that the earlier writer left her job. Sometimes we are tempted to stay in situations that in our gut we know are dangerous or unhealthy. It is good to hear from someone who has faced the same thing and made the difficult decision to leave. Dr. John
