Player Ches1: Thanks again. This really is one great game, getting better with each tweaking. And I agree as well that these players are making it good fun and more importantly, perhaps educational. It's rewarding to see inside the minds of real people, however they react to a given situation. I also expected more savages with big knives, but find it rewarding that the hard workers seem to get nearest the top. It's also rewarding to be armed with more rationale before I react to a given situation in the real workplace. That's the real prize methinks, and I hope everyone wins it.

"There really isnt any secret in becoming CEO. A few little tricks maybe, such as paying your dues, I played 4 or 5 rounds before I made it to
the CEO spot. I think alot of that had to do with the fact I was well known, I wasn't a player that stabbed, and I had helped others make their way
into the top 3 spots rounds before. Networking is the best way to get ahead, talking to people (the bitchboard was most helpful for this). Also
calling in favours from some players I got along well with throughout past rounds. Alliances are the biggest help in this game and knowing who to trust and making sure they trust you. There is an old saying that behind every good man is a better woman, well in my case it was just the opposite behind this good CEO was an even better past CEO. As most of you know Rex and I are a team off the computer. The last 2 or 3 rounds I was just happy to be in the top 10 and win a mug, but this time I wanted to win...I wanted the top spot! So I pouted and whined and Rex helped me get it."

"Can you believe I got myself backstabbed on purpose a few times to just use these new hero cards..... I had a white knight who slayed a 6 headed dragon & everyone in the group got double points except the backstabber, they got a big fat ZERO!! ..... I just loveed it!! but had to stop myself before I got rid of all my memos... LOL"

"I'm enjoying this type of thought provoking game. It helps me realize "WHO" I am and "WHAT" I stand for. It's all good fun Peace Baby!!" ~ Pennies Galore

This one came in from an addicted player when we moved servers and the game was down for a few hours...

"I cant log in to the best damn game on the net.........where has it gone?"

Player: REX
You both are absolutely right. In fact, I quit my job just so I could play office politics online all day, every day. I'm helplessly addicted and can't log off, even for a minute. I might add that if you're interested in gaining more points and getting ahead, vote in more meetings, and OPEN YOUR DAMN VOTES! Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to sound mean and angry, its the "OP monkey on my back syndrome". <disclaimer> this was an attempt at sarcastic humor.

PLAYER INTERVIEWS

Top Two Winners from March Break contest
(Round 9 - February 14th to March 14th, 2003 )

OP: As the talented couple who are running circles around the other players, can you please impart some of your collective wisdom on the other players? See Filameana's question below! We'll post your answers in the News section! I'm expecting Colleen will tell us how she royally trounced Rex, and wrestled him to the ground for her stunning victory! ;-)

"What is the secret to becoming the CEO? Past CEOs can you give some of us who don't even make it into the top 30 advice? How you can advance in this game? I wouldn't mind being in the top 10 to at least get an OP mug."

COLLEEN & REX: "There really isnt any secret in becoming CEO. A few little tricks maybe, such as paying your dues, I played 4 or 5 rounds before I made it to the CEO spot. I think alot of that had to do with the fact I was well known, I wasn't a player that stabbed, and I had helped others make their way into the top 3 spots rounds before. Top Three Winners from Stella Artois Contest Interviewed
(Round 4 - November 7thto November 30th, 2002 )

OP: CEO, Mr. Rex, what was your key to success in snagging the CEO title?

REX: Accelerating to the top is actually quite simple. Building trust is the key. A person will only be "CEO" if the group wants him/her to be. Teamwork is the only way to go. A person must vote in all meetings and open all votes that they feel they can. My philosophy was to open all votes until a stab occurred, then not bother with that persons vote again, until it was needed.

OP: Mr. Rex can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

REX: My name is Rex Bartlett. I am 41 years old and an Ohio native. I have worked in the Agriculture Industry for 16 years. These fields were everything from Turf & Ornamental care, State Licensed Insect and Disease Control including Analysis and Remedy for the residential/commercial customer. For the past 8 years I worked for a commercial vegetation control and management company. I truly loved the work, although the time away from home was detrimental to my now defunct marriage.

I am presently in the process of gaining citizenship status here in Canada and marrying my lovely fiancée and look forward to continuing a career in my field up here. Having suffered a very serious political dilemma at my job I found Office Politics very intriguing. To all the players that made the win possible, you are to be congratulated also, I couldn't have done this without you.

TRIXTER ON WINNING SECOND

OP: Trixter, you fought a good battle and kept Rex on his toes. What was your key to success in landing second place?

TRIXTER: I voted in all the meetings and kept my votes honest. I am an honest person and I decided at the beginning of the round that I did not want to move ahead of the game at the cost of someone else, not my style at work and thus, not my style at OP...

OP: Do you have any tips for other players?

TRIXTER: Have fun and meet the other players at OP...they are a great bunch and make playing a lot of fun...I spent most of my free time at the pub, meeting others and discussing other things (sometimes important matters and sometimes just talking about having a Stella on the beach in the BVI or having a girls only party)...sometimes I would just read and not actively participate in the thread...still fun either way. don't make your goal winning...cos winning comes when u r having fun.

OP: What is your job in real life?

TRIXTER: I work as a senior accountant with a specialized group that performs litigation support and forensic accounting. I deal with fraud, civil litigation, damage quantifications and business valuations. I work in an office tower on Bay Street in Toronto. There are about 200 staff at the firm. My dream job...would be working somewhere hot, selling coconuts...LOL. I enjoy what I do right now...just the hours are killer.

KOAKUMACHAN ON STEALING THIRD

OP: Koakumachan you made a fine showing by placing third in a tough race. What was your key to success?

KOAKUMACHAN: Getting to the top was part strategy, part hard work and part luck. It was important to be considered part of the core team and have them as friends. Voting, voting, voting, and voting. And opening votes. Posting in the pub helped comradarie and getting extra tools necessary for the job. Having the tools was one thing, but also using them at the right time was another.

OP: Do you have any tips for other players?

KOAKUMACHAN: Teamwork is important, as is socializing in the Pub. It is an important way to attract allies and find people to go out for OP chats at the bar. Oh yes, don't stab for the hell of it, or you won't be embraced by the team, and you'll never claw your way to the top, as the bosses will not entertain your votes in meetings.

OP: What is your job in real life?

KOAKUMACHAN: I work in a bank as a financial advisor. There's about 18 people in the office, and lots others to network with. My dream job is to be a fiction writer, and have my best-selling books turned into blockbuster movies where I get to choose the lead actors.

OP: Any other comments?

KOAKUMACHAN: The graphics on the daily dilemmas....what can I say -- they are soooo entertaining -- I have on many occasion fallen off my seat laughing. And finally, I must say that OP is a great outlet to have some fun and come up with some outrageous meetings I can only dream of, but would not actually do in real life. I really enjoy reading other postings where my 'co-workers' are having fun with it, too.
