"Old But Not Used"
How do you recycle into a new field of work, when your age is a factor against you? Recyclable Dear "Recyclable", Some fields are harder to enter than others once you are "of a certain age." If you have a particular line of work in mind, one that is dominated by the young, you will have a real struggle. On the other hand, life experience can be a tremendous plus in some fields. Many of the helping professions, for instance as a church minister, attract at least as many mid-life career change types as they do young people. Dr. John is an example of this phenomenon, having practiced law for ten years before studying theology. There are some wonderful career and vocational counselling services available, to help you identify the type of work that would be most satisfying for you. I would suggest that you consult such an agency so that they can help you discover a new field that has potential to be both satisfying and likely to have a place for you. Best of luck in your search, and thanks for writing. Dr. John
