"A lot of admin work that she is supposed to do, she is trying to push it to me... But I am the Senior Marketing executive."
Dear Office-Politics, I have a female colleague who is currently working as
a Senior Admin and her age is around 50 years old. She has been working
in this department for about 6 years. Since I have been promoted to
Senior Marketing executive, after one and a half year time in this department,
I feel that she is trying to make things difficult for me. Dear Senior Marketing executive, You should definitely sit down with your Boss to discuss this problem. As a Senior Marketing executive you have been entrusted with certain duties and responsibilities -- no doubt they include planning, strategy and execution. You need to be able to delegate the routine chores to admin people -- so you can get on with your job and be effective and productive. Your coworker is hampering your productivity. I would explain this to the Boss. The optimal solution is probably to move your coworker to another area, and give you a new admin person who will give you the support you need. But this may not be practical in your organization. At the very least, sitting down with your Boss will expose the problem, and hopefully you can discuss various ways to solve this problem. Thanks for writing to Office-Politics. Let me know if this helps. Franke James
Feedback from Senior Marketing executive, Thank you very much for your advice. Best regards.
